Hey! Yes, I agree. But I didn't at any stage say US actions justified Russia's actions. This is not a democracy vs autocracy war as some suggest; NATO is defending its borders and that is best done by giving Ukraine all the military help it needs. Putin would undoubtedly seek to widen his conquests if he were given the opportunity as you say. A wider war in Europe is in no-one's interests and Putin needs to suffer a humiliating defeat, despite what Macron says, to weaken him at home and hobble his armed forces so they are incapable of further aggression abroad. The US is helping, as are most EU and NATO nations, but they all need to do more. This war needs to be prosecuted fully before 2024, because if the Russophiles at the GOP win with Trump, or A.N.Other as President, then not only will NATO's defence be seriously undermined, but the US may then pull out of any sanctions regime thereby laying the groundwork for Putin to march all across Europe. I don't believe Trump would honour NATO's Article 5 which says an attack on one ally, is an attack on all, and if this should happen then we would probably be in WWIII. Putin knows all this and will be hoping to hang on till 2024 in the hope of pushing a Republican into the Presidency and then taking advantage of the ensuing chaos. Thanks for your comments! Much appreciated. Have a good day!
