How to Lose Friends & Not Be Influenced By People.

The Western application of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Me and My Mates, But Not for Anyone Else Outside of this Club is resulting in the biggest miscarriage of justice since the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Collective punishment and mass starvation are being normalised and even applauded, as the pain and anguish of stricken Israeli families is being used to slaughter thousands in the name of what they call targeted justice, and most definitely “not retribution.”

“Thou shalt steal. Thou shalt murder. Thou shalt covet. Thou shalt not treat thy neighbour as thy would treat thyself. And thou shalt do all of this with impunity. Forever and ever. Amen.”

Me, 12th October 2023. From the Bible rewritten for the 21st Century according to the rules handed down in stone to America and her mates. Death to anyone who says otherwise.

So much has been written about the current crisis in Israel/Palestine that to add to that tidal wave had not been my intention. After all, what could I add? What could I say that hasn’t already been said?

And then I started getting push-back on every single one of my social media posts, and often times from people who I would not have expected to get it from. Well educated people. People who I would have said were far more informed than I on such things. People who spoke out against the war on Iraq. People who have stood up and protested against injustice on many occasions. In short, people who should know better.

The barrage of news coverage is overwhelming. I have taken it with me to my dreams every night since last Saturday. I cannot stop thinking about this awful, dreadful situation. At some point, somewhere, in the midst of all this someone said on TV somewhere (I think it was Marwan Bishara…but not sure) that the tidal wave of rhetoric calling for the destruction of Gaza and its people reminds him of the bad old days before the U.S. invasion on Iraq when, swept up in the anger and ire…
