Social media & control of the 21st century masses

In principal works of art have always been reproducible. What was made by the hands of one man could always, in theory, be copied by another. As we advanced technologically, methods of reproduction, then mass reproduction, took art out of the hands of the few and ‘proletarianised’ it.

Statues, goblets, ritualised objects, were now no longer the preserve of the priests or those worshipping in the temples, churches, synagogues, mosques and other…
